Limassol  - Kolossi Castle
Kolossi Castle also played a large part in Sugar production which during the middle ages was one of Cyprus main exports at the time, infact  you can still see the remains of the Sugar factory in the grounds of the caslte.

Kolossi Castle is open daily from about 07:30 – 17:00  (although operating hours change depending on season) and entrance is just a few Euros per person.

Kolossi Castle

Kolossi Castle, was originally a Crusader castle, and is located about 14 Kilometres west of Limassol.

Kolosssi Castle was originally built in 1210 by the Frankish Military. The Castle as it stands today was built in 1454 by the Hospitallers.

Kolossi Castle played an important role in the Crusaded of King Richard the Lionheart and was  home to the  Knights of the Order of St John of Jerusalem. During this era Kolossi Castle played a large part in the production of Dessert wine Commandaria
