Whilst on your holiday in Paphos on the holiday island of Cyprus another place not to miss is Paphos Market.
Paphos Market is located in the old town, not far from the bus station and close to the main shopping street Makarios Avenue. (One of the town’s main shopping streets)
Starting out from the above mentioned Makarios avenue, you enter into a covered alleyway, which has a similar sort of appearance to a Middle Eastern Souk, with shops and stalls either side, coupled with Cypriot proprietors trying to sell you their wares.
Just off the market is the main market square - another covered area, and it is off this area that you will find the meat, fish and fruit and vegetable areas of Paphos Market which are the parts that are popular with the locals.
You will see that much of the market is aimed specifically at tourists with souvenirs, beach towels, lace (some of it traditionally Cypriot) leather, copper and silver all widely sold throughout the market. However, Paphos Market does make for a fun morning out on your holiday; it does have quite an atmosphere, and why not combine it with a bite to eat in one of the side-street restaurants, often serving either a tasty snack, or traditional Cypriot specialties.
Paphos Market is open from Monday to Saturday from about 9am to 2pm.
Buses run regularly from Kato Paphos and the hotel area to the market.
Whilst at Papshos Market why not discover the Ottoman Baths these are just a short distance away from Paphos Market just next to the municipal car park.
So enjoy a fun Cyprus Day out at the market in the resort of Paphos.
